Wow, the last time I posted, it was the first week of Feb, now it is already the third week!
Well, we are all moved into our new place and have been busy unpacking and getting our old place totally cleaned out. It really is amazing how much stuff one can accumulate in a home. My husband and I have been busy trying to pay down our debt that we incurred while going to school and dealing with some medical situations so we don't use credit or buy anything that we cannot pay for in cash. Yet, somehow, we have managed to accumulate a lot more stuff than what we had when we moved into that last house. I guess we have a bit of an excuse as most of it is from having a baby and all that is essential for him to grow.
Anyways, I have not been eating as well as I would like to have been for the last two weeks as life has been a bit chaotic. BUT, I do say that "Every Day is a New Day" and I get up with the best intentions every morning and work hard to make the right choices. My meals have been a bit carby lately as we were not wanting to move a whole bunch of fridge food over the last weeks so we did not buy a lot of fridge food and were eating from the pantry. Now that we have settled into our new place, I have been busy cooking again. I love to cook and bake and my old oven was awful and I hated using it. I baked my first batch of healthy whole wheat raspberry muffins last night and they turned out great!
Being in this new place has made me feel so much better as well. We get sunlight all day long here whereas before we spent most of the day in cold shady darkness. Its amazing how much better you can feel just from having a bit of daylight in your morning wakefulness. I have been walking almost everyday that I have been here, even if it is just a short walk and it feels great :)
I have still been having a bit of an issue with my portion control so I have been eating with a smaller plate and try to fill at least half the plate with healthy veggies. I am toying with the idea of joining Weight Watchers since I can walk to the meetings from my house. I had tried WW successfully many years ago and lost 20lbs in about 3 months and have continued to look at foods using points values since then. WW has a new Points Plus system now and I think that I would like to try it, I am just debating about the money side of it as it will cost $50 per month. Although, that is about the cost of a gym and since I can walk everywhere now, I won't be joining a gym. I like to be outdoors, rain or shine, rather than being stuck in a stuffy building full of people who look at you like you are too fat to be there or you should have been there sooner and you wouldn't be that fat. Anyways, enough about my dislike for the gym.
I am working hard on my weightloss and am totally back on track. I always remember that "Every Day is a New Day" and I just need to keep my focus to reach my end goal. I can and will do it because it is important to me.
